Antiemetic Injection

Every time you throw up, your body uses a defense mechanism to fight the foreign objects inside your stomach. One of these defense mechanisms is called the retching reflex. When you vomit, you push your diaphragm and abdominal muscles, which also triggers the gag reflex. The retching reflex helps you get rid of the toxic chemicals in your stomach by making your throat and esophagus contract, pushing the contents of your stomach up into your throat and out of your mouth. This reflex also causes a gag reflex, which forces you to cough up the contents of your stomach.
