Cetylpyridinium Chloride is a water-soluble, cationic, quaternary ammonium chloride (QAC) surfactant. QACs are amphoteric surfactants that are capable of forming both cationic and anionic micelles. QACs are widely used in detergents and in the textile industry, due to their ability to solubilize both hydrophobic and hydrophilic compounds. This chemical is used in the treatment of septicemia. It is also used as a surfactant and in the production of soaps, shampoos, and detergents.
