Column Pipes

When the very first European settlers arrived on the East Coast of the United States, they found a land full of wide-open spaces. But the early colonists needed to transport water, and they needed to do it quickly and efficiently. They discovered that by stacking logs in a column and placing a layer of soil on top, they could create a pipe that would carry water to the distant settlements.
