Iron is included in a combination of hematinic syrup with vitamin B12, folic acid, and L-lysine, as well as other vitamins. It is used to treat or prevent the shortage of these nutrients, which can arise in circumstances like anaemia, pregnancy, and poor diet. The body needs iron, a crucial mineral, to make red blood cells. Iron from the stomach is better absorbed when vitamin C is present. Normal blood, cells, and nerves require vitamin B12. Red blood cells in particular need folic acid to develop healthily. To avoid birth abnormalities in the spinal cord, women of reproductive age should consume enough folic acid, either naturally or through supplementation.
