Hanuman is a Hindu deity and an ardent devotee of Lord Rama. Hanuman is the son of the wind god, Vayu, and his mother Anjani. His title, Anjaneya, means "the son of Anjani." He is a vanara (monkey-like creature) who helps Rama in his struggle against the demon king, Ravana. His most famous feat is his carrying of the mountain, Kailash, on his shoulders to help Rama cross the ocean to reach Lanka. Hanuman is also one of the central figures of the Hindu mythology.
