Hepatitis b Vaccine

The Hepatitis B vaccine is a preventive treatment to reduce the risk of acquiring Hepatitis B. It is made from attenuated viruses that are incapable of causing disease in humans. This vaccine is given as a series of three injections. The first injection is given when the infant is about one month old, and the second injection is given six months later, and the third injection is given at least 12 months after the first. The Hepatitis B vaccine does not offer any protection from infection with the Hepatitis B virus.
