In her novel, “The God of Small Things,” Arundhati Roy tells the story of three sisters, each with a sibling and the family they grew up in. The story begins with the youngest, Sophie Mol, a baby in a “green, star-shaped” pram, which is reminiscent of the one used by the Hindu god, Krishna. The story follows the lives of the Mol siblings through to adulthood and includes stories about each sibling and their journey to adulthood.
