Ladies Watches

In the 1850s, a small group of men in Switzerland began to produce a series of watches that were different from the watches of the time. These new watches were created with a larger diameter, and had no second hand. The new watch also had a gold or silver case, depending on the model, with a rotating bezel. The men also had a new idea to use a chain to connect the watch to the wearers wrist. The new watch was called the wristlet watch. This idea was then patented by Louis Cartier in 1853, and became an international success.
