Lamp Wick

Different types of burners require different kinds of wicks: some require a round, string, or rope wick; many require a flat wick; centre draught lamps require tube wicks. Some side draught or argand lamp burners use flat wicks that are made round by forcing them through a wick tube.The burner employs a wick, typically made of cotton, that is formed by rolling a wide, flat wick into a tube and stitching the seam to create the entire wick.
