Pooja Kalash

The temple is referred to as Purna Kalasha, Purna-Kumbha, and Purna Ghata. Purna Kalash denotes plenty and life source in the Rig Veda. During Pujas, devotees fill the Kalash with holy water and place a coconut on top.The holy water required for the ceremonies is kept in a metal container or pot known as a Puja Kalasha. The Kalasha shown here is made of brass. It has a slender neck and a broad flat base. Ashta Lakshmi is depicted on the objects body as she sits on a lotus with a pair of arms.
