Refractory Bricks

Firebrick is a type of refractory brick used for insulation in the construction of furnaces and fireplaces. Refractory bricks are typically made of a clay-based material that is combined with either limestone or dolomite and sometimes other materials like quartz, feldspar, or silica. The material is heated to high temperatures in an oxygen-free atmosphere and then cooled in a water bath.
