Rubella Vaccine

In an effort to help protect the general public from the consequences of a measles outbreak, a new vaccine was created. This vaccine, called rubella, is a live-attenuated vaccine and it has been in use since 1968. It is administered through a nasal spray or an injection and it is safe and effective for children, pregnant women, and people with immune disorders. The rubella vaccine has a safety profile that is comparable to the measles vaccine, and there have been no known side effects associated with the vaccine. It is available in both the United States and Europe and is affordable for most people.
