Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple

Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple is a temple located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess, Kamakshi, and is the most important temple of the Goddess in the country. It is one of the five Pancha Shakthi Peethams. The temple has been built on a rock hillock and consists of three enclosures, each of which has a gateway tower and a separate shrine dedicated to the goddess. The temple was built in the Dravidian style of architecture. It is known for its paintings, sculptures, and wall carvings. The temple complex houses many shrines dedicated to the various incarnations of Kamakshi.
