Stevia Plant

Stevia is a plant that is native to Paraguay, and is known for its medicinal properties. It has been used for centuries by the indigenous Guarani Indians for both its sweet taste and medicinal properties. The leaves of the Stevia plant are about two to four times sweeter than sugar, and have a low glycemic index. Stevia can be found in many commercial products such as teas, baked goods, desserts, and even foods such as jellies, sauces, and fruit preserves.
