The bacterium is found in the human intestine and saliva. The bacterium is also found in the blood, muscles, and nerves of animals. The tetanus bacterium is very dangerous because it can spread quickly and kill you quickly if not treated with tetanus shots. Tetanus shots can prevent you from getting tetanus. Tetanus shots are given in two ways. The first way is by giving the vaccine intravenously, or into a vein, of the person who has the disease. The second way is by giving it through the skin.
