Tetanus Vaccine

Tetanus is a deadly disease caused by a toxin released by the bacterium Clostridium tetani. The toxin can enter the body through cuts or breaks in the skin, or through the mouth or nose. Tetanus has been around since ancient times and is most commonly associated with rusty nails, but can also occur following an animal bite, or as a result of deep puncture wounds. Symptoms typically include stiffening of muscles, difficulty swallowing, and muscle spasms.
