Ganesha is the God of success, and the remover of obstacles. He is also known as the Lord of wisdom and the son of Lord Shiva. He is depicted with four arms and his head is made up of a human and elephant head, representing the spiritual and temporal realms respectively. His vehicle is the rat, which represents intelligence and ability. The rat carries a noose in one of its paws, which represents death. The rat is also known as the vehicle of Dharma, or the right path.
