White Marble Human Statue

This life-size marble sculpture of a human figure in a relaxed pose is part of a series by artist Vladimir Tretchikoff. It is a replica of the artists self-portrait, which he painted in the early 1920s. Tretchikoff was an expert in creating animal sculptures from marble and this particular sculpture was made in 1924. It has been described as a "precious gift" by the artist to himself, and it is considered one of the best known pieces in his work.
