Calcitriol Tablet

Calcitriol is a hormone which regulates the bodys ability to use calcium and phosphorus in bone formation and muscle contraction. It is a prescription drug which helps prevent or treat secondary hyperparathyroidism, a condition where the parathyroid glands release too much parathyroid hormone. This medication is also known as 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol. The drug Calcitriol is used to treat conditions such as osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and certain types of cancer. It is also used to lower the risk of developing heart disease. The tablet is a white, round, flat-faced pill with a biconvex face and a score line on the back of the tablet.
