Dexlansoprazole Capsule is an oral prescription drug that belongs to a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors. It is a treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and ulcers. This drug is typically prescribed to patients who have an inflammation of the stomach lining and/or esophagus. The drug decreases the amount of stomach acid and acid reflux into the esophagus. This drug may also be prescribed to patients with other disorders that cause gastric ulcers and erosions.. The compound is most commonly found in many over-the-counter medications such as Pepto-Bismol and Maalox.
